Lung laceration: spectral insight

29 yo female presents after MVC. Conventional CT shows right lung infiltrates, with a central opacity showing an air fluid level, typical for a lung laceration.

On spectral analysis, the lung laceration is high density, consistent with hemorrhage, and shows complete absence of iodine uptake. Surrounding lung contusion shows preserved perfusion.

As reconstruction speeds increase, we hope to look at trauma more with spectral CT.
